Ali Darwiche: So, throughout life, our worst weaknesses and meanesses are usually committed for the sake of the people whome we most despise (p.216)
Sara Trevisan: "So, in my case; all the work, near and afar, that tended to the end, had been accomplished; and in an instant the blow was struck, and the roof my stronghold dropped upon me." (pg308) It happens a lot that you have been building up our expectations of something, and you are so convinced they will be realized but then they become destroyed by something that is beyond your power.
Ben Gallego: "Take nothing on its looks; take everything on evidence. There is no better rule." (pg. 332) It happens to sometimes, that you feel really confident that something good is going to happen, based only in the good things that happened, but then it turns out that nothing was going to happen, and then you end with a desire of wishing it could have being true or that you would have never thought about it from the beginning.

"If we had been less attached to one another, I think we must have hated one another regularly every morning." (pg271)
This is a quote of Pip's in relation to his friendship with Herbert. I can relate to this quote entirely, because it is the exact way I feel about my best friend. I think, sometimes, that if we weren't best friend, we would be enemies because we are so much alike. To me, it often seems that the line between friendship and hatred is very slim.

Tad Shearman: "Pip, dear old chap, life is made of ever so many partings welded together."(ch.27)
Seong Jae Shin - "It is considered that you must be better educated, in ... accordance with your altered position, and that you will be alive to the importance and necessity of at once entering on that advantage." (1.18.63)"It is considered that you must be better educated, in ... accordance with your altered position, and that you will be alive to the importance and necessity of at once entering on that advantage." (Chapter 18)
